Supporting Donkey’s in need!

At the end of November, Anna (Product Manager) and Aimee (Marketing Executive) from the STERIS Animal Health team visited the Donkey Sanctuary in Devon, but they did not go empty-handed! With them, they had over 100 brand new veterinary surgical instruments which were donated to support the important work carried out by the vets and nurses at the sanctuary.

Located just outside of Sidmouth in the beautiful Devon countryside, the Donkey Sanctuary is an international animal welfare organisation, transforming the lives of millions donkeys and mules. Through their work in 35 countries, the sanctuary reaches around 1.8 million donkeys worldwide!

During the visit, Aimee and Anna were offered a tour which featured a brand new state-of-the-art hospital facility (opened in 2017) this included a purpose-built theatre, diagnostic examination rooms as well as donkey friendly recovery areas.

The Donkey Sanctuary also offers a fantastic day out with beautiful walks, a café with a great view, shops and of course – the opportunity to meet friendly donkeys! Here at STERIS Animal Health, we would definitely recommend a visit!

STERIS Animal Health would like to thank the Donkey Sanctuary for their hospitality and the great work they do to improve the welfare of donkeys in the UK and across the globe!
